1. Optimize Your Google Listing
Did you know 88% of google searches will click on one of the top 3 results of their search? Chris calls this the “three pack”, and it’s essential to land there if you want traffic. One way to do this is to make sure every word in your business listing in google is purposeful and consistent with other information about you online, and that you’ve really thought through your strategy.
2. Post At Least Once A Week
The actual content isn’t super important, but consistency is. Chris explains that data is really what boosts SEO the most. So post often and try to stuff your posts with keywords. For example, if you run a burger joint, say “Burger” as much as you can.
3. Analyze What Your Competitors Are Doing
Do you have a competitor who seems to be crushing it with SEO? Try and figure out what they’re doing and implement it yourself. Especially when 46% of searches are local, such as “restaurants near me”, using citations to get yourself on the map and stand out from competitors is critical.
4. Hire Some Help
“The actual technical details of how we do what we do is kind of boring”, said Chris, and there’s a lot to do as well. IT can be long, hard work, so it’s worth hiring someone like Chris with the expertise and time to really dive in. And don’t worry about interference with content marketing or other company initiatives, because SEO optimization can run smoothly in the background while boosting your traffic.
